About the artist…

I grew up on a farm in North Dakota where the wetlands of the prairie sustain a variety of wildlife and provide an abundance of subject matter for an artist. One of my goals as an artist is to portray a subject in its natural behavior and habitat.

The American landscape has always been an inspiration to me. My admiration for our land and animals has made me aware of how fragile these gifts are. I hope that my work will lead the viewer to a greater appreciation for our outdoors.

I studied at the Minneapolis School of Fine Art and have participated in classes at the Virginia Museum of Fine Art and at Richmond area workshops.  Most of my work is in oil and acrylic.
